During the time of isolation between Cuba and America there is to be expected that many criminals have escaped by jumping from one country to the other. Since America and Cuba have dropped the could shoulder, America has since returned those Cuban’s who have escaped to the states for protection. However, those few American’s who have crossed over to the island for protection, have not been returned. Those human right’s activists on the subcommittee argue that any release of criminals is in the hands of the Cuban people, not the government. It appears as though, like before, that Cuba wants to establish itself as its own identity with no help from the United States. Similar to the idea that they would not receive help for debt or have people come in and take the money owed, Cuban’s (or Cuban officials) are doing the same with criminals.
