Chinese Presence in Latin America Growing

The economic partnerships between China and certain Latin America countries have grown considerably. In fact, there was a 71 percent increase in investment by Chinese banks just last year. Not only are these partnerships solely based around simple trade either. China has been rumored to be helping Venezuela, recently declared a U.S. security threat, develop a drone program. In addition they have already assisted in launching a Bolivian satellite, and is helping to fund an Argentinean nuclear power plant. At the same time, many U.S. investors are pulling out of the region in search of better opportunities elsewhere. Latin Americans seem more open to working with the Chinese because they do not have a history of opposing new ideas upon the people.
