Argentine Jurist: The New Head of UN Human Rights Committee

Argentine jurist Salvioli, has recently critiqued the United Nations human rights committee stating that those on the committee should be headed by academics.  The committee is responsible for addressing any concerns that may arise in any countries about human rights.  Salvioli not only critiques the UN, but also the judiciary court in Argentina for lacking academics as well as gender perspectives.  Salvioli is the director of Human Rights at the University of La Plata’s.  Also, Silvia Fernandez de Gurmendi was also elected as President of International Criminal Court and has also had experience in human rights. Silvia Fernandez de Gurmendi is also one of those  contributors for the establishment of  the court she now resides on.  Argentina is taking giant steps in the human rights department for the world.
